 Today somebody took a dump in our elevator. I didn't see who it was but since I've caught a Murray (Aboriginal) urinating next to the lift and another changing her urine soaked pants in the middle of our arcade, statistics are telling me that it wasn't the mayor playing a prank on us.
It's not as if no-one uses our building, all floors are occupied and people regularly use the lift. I start work at 8am and at the time, the lift was clean. Matty K rocked up at about 8.30am and said that the ground floor button had been pushed as he left the elevator. There may or may not be substance to that given that he was the last to stop at our floor before the shit was discovered by Daniel at 9am. The people on the mezzanine floor may or may not use the lift, generally they don't and I think the people on the second floor start at 9am so they may have seen and reported the egg before Dan arrived at work.
Immediately after the discovery Noel decided that he would shout everyone cafe coffee and that I should be the one to go and get them. I complained that the timing of the coffee and the nugget in the lift was just a bit too close together to be coincidence. I took the fire stairs to the rear of the building and when i came back loaded with drinks there was a guy opening the lift armed with a mop and bucket. He was visibly surprised with what he saw. Anyway, I took the stairs again on the way up.

At lunch time I had to go downstairs again and knowing that the lift had been cleaned I felt safe to use it. As I walked into the lift it was like passing the previous person into a toilet cubical, I mean sure the guy sprayed and everything but the smell is only masked by this other smell. This particular lift has no ventilation fan and only gets fresh air as people walk in or walk out of the lift. I know the guy wasn't really equipped to deal with chocolate mousse but that lift could do with another clean.
Noel complained that the smell was strong enough to leave a taste in his mouth. |
